About Ricardo
Real estate agent working with buyers from Mexico who want to invest in property in Brownsville and Cameron County, Texas, with every step explained in Spanish or English.
Ricardo Salazar is a Texas real estate sales agent, licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC #643769), and has worked with RCR Real Connect Realty in Brownsville since 2022.
He works with buyers from Mexico and the United States who want to invest in Brownsville and Cameron County: long-term rentals, vacation homes on South Padre Island, land in the growth corridors and commercial property. Every step is explained in Spanish or English.
From the RCR office on Central Blvd. in Brownsville he shows properties in person or by video, writes offers on the official TREC contract and coordinates the inspection, title company and lender, so clients who live in Mexico do not have to travel for every step.
Ricardo can walk through the property and the street and send you photos and video, so you do not have to travel for every step. A TREC-licensed inspector evaluates its condition during the option period.
Offers, inspection reports and closing documents in Texas are in English. Ricardo explains each one in Spanish before you sign.
Before recommending a property he reviews the price per square foot, property taxes, insurance, HOA fees and a realistic rent, and every estimate is labelled as one.
He coordinates the title company, lender, inspector and, if you need one, a property manager. For legal and tax questions he refers you to licensed professionals.
01Consultation
A video call or a WhatsApp chat to define the area, the strategy and how you will pay: cash or a loan.
Typical: 1–3 days
02Financing
For cash, bank statements that show the funds. For a loan, an application with a lender that works with foreign nationals, who usually ask for a larger down payment.
Typical: 1–4 weeks
03Search
Ricardo filters MLS listings by the numbers that matter, shows them in person or by video and negotiates your offer on the state-approved TREC contract.
Typical: 2–8 weeks
04Escrow
Your earnest money goes to the title company, not to the agent. You inspect during the option period while the title company checks the title and prepares the closing.
Typical: 30–45 days with a loan; often less in cash
05Closing
Sign at the title company, through an online notary or with a power of attorney, if the title company and lender accept it. Then utilities, insurance and, if you rent, a property manager.
Typical: 1 day to sign; 1–2 weeks to hand over
Tell Ricardo what you are looking for: area, budget and strategy. He will reply with options and next steps, in Spanish or English.
